The second session for 2025 of the Harry Bridges School of Labor will be on Organizing Black Workers in the Forming of Industrial Unions. We will review the history of Black workers in America leading up to the organizing drives for industrial unions. We will look at organizing during the Great Depression, including the Unemployment Councils. We will look specially at the organizing drive of tobacco workers at RJ Reynolds in Winston-Salem, NC with the Food, Tobacco, Agricultural and Allied Workers (FTA) Local 22. This session with take place a week later than normal on Wednesday February 5 at 9pm EST/6pm PDT and Saturday February 8 at 7pm EST/4pm PDT.
